By Air
The local airport is Proserpine (Whitsunday Coast) and is serviced by domestic airlines Virgin Australia and Jetstar which have daily direct flights from Brisbane as well as connecting flights from other destinations. The airport is the most popular gateway, with just a 20 minute drive to Sunset Retreat.
Once you land you have the choice of hiring a car from Hertz, Europcar, Avis and Budget.
You can also prebook the door to door shuttle with Whitsundays 2 Everywhere.
Adults $36 return and Children are $26 return.
There is also the local Taxi service with a shared taxi option often available.
Hamilton Island Airport is a 50 minute ferry ride to the mainland (Port of Airlie). Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia have regular flights from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Mackay which is less than 2 hours South may also be an option as it has a wider choice of flights.
By Road
The turn-off to Airlie Beach is well signposted from the Bruce Highway (Highway 1) on the northern outskirts of Proserpine. It is a 10 minute drive to Sunset Retreat from the Highway turn off.
By Train
Queensland Rail operates a regular passenger service between Brisbane and Cairns (Sunlander), with a stop in Proserpine which is 12.5 kms from Sunset Retreat.
